Free or Pro?
There is only one installer for Cucku Backup. If you have purchased a Cucku
Backup Pro license then Cucku will automatically upgrade as soon as you sign
in to your Your Cucku Account in the
Setup Wizard.
Installing Cucku Backup
If you don't already have Skype installed then Download Skype (it's free, like Cucku) before you install Cucku Backup.
Cucku uses Skype to send your backup to a friend. You can use Cucku without Skype but
you will only be able to backup and restore locally.
To install Cucku download the latest version from the Download Page. If you're
using Internet Explorer we recommend clicking Run to launch the installer as soon
as the download has completed. You can also save the installer. If you save the
installer then double-click it once download has completed.
On Windows 7 or Vista you will be prompted to give permission for the installer to
run (if User Account Control is enabled). Click Continue to start the installer.
On Windows XP you must be an administrator to install Cucku Backup.
The install wizard will check your system to ensure that it's ready to install
Cucku Backup. The wizard will download and install the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework
if it isn't already present (this is a shared component that is already installed on
most computers). Once the check is complete you'll see the Welcome to Cucku Backup
Setup page. Click Next to continue.
Review the Cucku Backup End User License Agreement. To continue install select I
accept the terms in the license agreement and then click Next.
If you'd like to choose the folder where Cucku Backup is installed click Change.
To continue with the default folder click Next to continue. We recommend using the
default folder.
The wizard will now install Cucku backup. This may take a few minutes to complete.
Click Finish when the Cucku Backup Setup Completed page appears. After you
click Finish the wizard will configure and start the Cucku Service. This may take a few
minutes and the wizard may appear unresponsive. Please wait for this step to complete
before continuing with setup.
Running Cucku Backup
After you have installed Cucku Backup double-click the Cucku Backup icon on your
Desktop. You can also run Cucku Backup from the Start menu (All Programs | Cucku | Cucku Backup).
The installer configures Cucku to load when Windows starts. Once Cucku is running you
shouldn't need to start it again.
The first time you run Cucku the Setup Wizard will guide you through the process of
setting up Cucku. Context sensitive help is available throughout Cucku Backup - click
Online Help for detailed instructions on any page or screen.
