Settings - Partner Settings

The free version of Cucku Backup supports a single active partner. Your current partner is shown at the bottom of this page. Cucku Backup Pro users can have any number of active partners.

If Allow my computer to backup to partners I trust and Allow partners I trust to backup to my computer are both unchecked then remote backup is disabled. You will not be able to add or edit backup partners when remote backup is disabled. To enable remote backup check one or both of these options and then click OK to save settings. Cucku will then connect to Skype and you can open settings again to add or edit a backup partner.

Allow my computer to backup to partners I trust controls backup of your files to any partner. If this option is checked then Cucku will send an encrypted copy of your locally backed up files to your active partner.

Allow partners I trust to backup to my computer controls backup of your partner's files to your computer. If this option is checked then Cucku will accept connections from your active partner and store encrypted copies of their backup on your computer.

Allow Cucku to prevent my computer from sleeping helps speed up remote backup by preventing your computer from entering sleep or hibernate mode when you are backing up to a partner, or your partner is backing up to you. Uncheck this option to allow your computer to sleep or hibernate normally.

Don't send or receive files while I'm using my computer controls when Cucku will start a remote backup or accept a connection from your partner. By default Cucku will send and receive backups whenever necessary to ensure that remote backups complete as quickly as possible. If you check this option Cucku will only send and receive backups when you're not using your computer.

To invite a new backup partner click the Add button. If you are using the free version of Cucku Backup then inviting a new partner will disable your current active partner. When a partner is disabled you cannot send new backups to that partner or receive backups from that partner. Cucku Backup Pro users can invite any number of partners.

To change settings for an individual partner double-click the partner in the list, or select the partner and click Edit.

Click Refresh to update the list of backup partners from your Cucku Account. The update may take a minute to complete.
