Cucku Earns Skype Certification
Cucku Backup proven by Skype’s rigorous testing
NOVEMBER 24, 2008 — San Francisco, CALIF — Cucku today announced that it has earned Skype certification
for its free online backup solution. This puts Cucku in elite company,
as only 19 software products are currently certified by Skype.
“The Skype certification we’ve just earned is important to us for many reasons,”
said Rob Ellison, CEO of Cucku. “Not only does it demonstrate that we work seamlessly within the
Skype infrastructure, but their user base is fiercely loyal to Skype and we expect our certification
to help us secure new customers from within the company’s assemblage of users and partners.”
Skype Certification: A Rigorous Test
Only 19 software products are certified by Skype — this is due in large part to the rigorous
testing that Skype performs to determine if a product is worthy of certification.
The company’s certification test specifications require that any product under consideration
must be subjected to a battery of tests to ensure seamless interoperability with Skype.
Cucku’s use of Skype as a proven communications medium means that if you can call a
friend, you can backup your data to that friend, too.
Social Backup Explained
Cucku Backup relies on a partner approach whereby files are encrypted and backed up to a friend,
family member or second PC. There’s no need to purchase an expensive hosted backup service,
just backup the way it should be — easy, trustworthy and free. Social backup offers the same
peace-of-mind provided by hosted online backup solutions, without the pitfalls. With Cucku
you can get together with your partner for high-speed initial remote backup or restore,
this just isn’t possible with a datacenter.
