Why I Hate TreeViews
TreeViews are great for displaying hierarchical information, up to a point. It's easy to get overwhelmed if the tree is too complex. More seriously, if you don't know the relationship between branches you're never going to find what you're looking for.

Most backup software sticks with the TreeView. The worst offenders dump you in your C: drive and leave you to figure out which branches, twigs and leaves are important to you.
With Cucku, we provide three easy ways to pick the right files to backup. Filesets include all files in a group, regardless of location. Folders select common windows locations like My Documents. We also detect applications, so for instance you don't need to figure out which obscure folder contains your Firefox Bookmarks or AOL Email.

This means that when you setup Cucku you can just click Next with confidence that the files you care about will be included in the backup. If you need more control, double-click any item in the list to edit it.

Yes, we'll give you a tree. But instead of the entire filesystem you get to focus on a single folder. This makes it easy to exclude anything you know you don't need to backup, down to individual files if necessary.
If you happen to be a die-hard ntbackup fan you can delete all the custom backup items, add your C: drive and then pick each file and folder to include the hard way. For the rest of us Cucku makes it easy to include the right files without needing deep knowledge of where they're stashed.

Let a friend be your backup partner
Craig Crossman writes:
So why would you choose to do an offsite backup this way? Well for one thing, it's free. And secondly, you know who's got your back or more accurately, your backup. It's not off in the Internet cloud somewhere. It's a novel concept and given the cost, it's definitely worth a try.
