Backup To Do List

In 2.10 we introduced a new To Do List:

Cucku Backup - To Do List

You'll see this pop up once a day to remind you to complete four most important steps to ensure that your data is fully protected:

  1. Run a local backup. Most of the time you'll have completed this step before you see the To Do list - by default Cucku picks sensible defaults and runs the first backup straight after the setup wizard.

  2. Store the local backup on a different drive. While Cucku is designed to send your files safely offsite you really want to store your backup on a separate drive. By doing this you can recover from most situations from the local backup and you'll only need the remote backup for real disasters.

  3. Add a backup partner. This is where social backup starts - invite a backup partner so you can store your files safely on a second computer. Your partner could be a friend, family member or a second PC that you own.

  4. Run a remote backup. Once you've added your first partner send a copy of your files to them for safekeeping. To send your files to more than one partner, or to host backups for several partners upgrade to Cucku Backup Pro. You can send your remote backup over the Internet, or use Backup Export to send it on an external hard drive. Cucku will automatically update the remote backup whenever you and your partner are connected to the Internet.

Complete all the steps in the To Do List and your backup is in great shape.

If for some reason one of the steps doesn't apply to you just pick Never at the bottom of the window before you click Close and Cucku won't bother you with the list again.
