Management Team
Robert Ellison – CEO, Co-founder
Robert Ellison is an experienced technology executive with over fifteen years of experience
developing consumer software and games software solutions including digital distribution, e-commerce,
product activation and copy protection. Prior to co-founding Cucku Robert held positions in product
management, P&L leadership and corporate development at Macrovision Corporation. Before Macrovision
Robert contributed to two successful UK startups: C-Dilla Ltd (acquired by Macrovision) and
Verifier Systems (acquired by Thermo Electron).
Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybernetics and Control Engineering from the University of Reading.
Mark Jackson – CTO, Co-founder
Mark Jackson was most recently Senior Director of Engineering for Macrovision’s
Research and Development department in the UK where he was responsible for the research,
development, testing, release and maintenance of CD and DVD copy protection products and
Digital Rights Management (DRM) solutions for the games, music and film industries. Most
notably, Mark was the lead developer of the market leading SafeDisc copy protection product
for the games industry.
Mark has twenty years experience developing and managing mass distribution software.
Prior to Macrovision Mark worked for ten years at Racal Research developing real time,
embedded, security and communications solutions for the telecommunications sector.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing and Information Systems from the University of Manchester.
Bill Rivers – VP Engineering
Bill Rivers has a broad range of technical expertise from twenty five years of software
product development, with a particular specialty in producing scalable, secure database services.
Bill was the Product Development Director for the hugely successful Promap mapping
product (acquired by the Daily Mail Group) and was most recently Chief Scientist for Landmark Information Group.
Bill holds a Masters degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from Oxford University.
William Doyle – Principal Engineer
William Doyle has over 17 years of software development experience. Most recently
William was Senior Program Manager at Oracle where he was responsible for their
Information Rights Management product.
Prior to this, William was the Senior Engineering Manager for Macrovision's CD and DVD copy
protection product, SafeDisc. Whilst working at Macrovision, William developed many of the copy protection
technologies used in SafeDisc and is the inventor of a number of related patents.
Before joining Macrovision, William spent 9 years developing text retrieval and search engine technologies for
a number of UK companies.
